Branding a FORTS Shelter for Clear Recognition
A branded shelter can help people recognize who operates it and where to go. That matters at a clinic, a command location or an event, where visitors may be approaching an unfamiliar facility. Treat the graphics as part of the facility plan: identity, function and wayfinding should work together.

Decide what someone needs to recognize
Start with the organization’s name and the shelter’s purpose. A logo may identify the owner, while a clear service label tells a visitor whether they have reached registration, an office or a public entrance. Give the most important message space to stand out.
Consider visitors approaching by vehicle or walking from parking. Review lettering, contrast and placement at the distances that matter on the actual site.
Design around the working building
FORTS offers branding options including full and partial wraps, decals, window graphics and selected interior branding. Choose the scope around the shelter configuration and assignment. Review artwork against the correct exterior elevations before production.
Doors, windows, folding panels, equipment and service connections affect the available surfaces. Mark these on the artwork review so an important word does not depend on a door being closed or a surface remaining unobstructed. Review both the folded and deployed arrangements with FORTS.
Separate enduring identity from changing information
The organization’s identity may stay with a shelter through several assignments. Service names, sponsors, event dates or entrance directions may change. Identify these two kinds of information before choosing the graphic package.
For a facility that moves, plan how site-specific directions will be updated. A permanent logo can be paired with separate entrance, parking or delivery signs. Review the replacement approach for graphics expected to change.
Prepare a useful artwork brief
Provide approved brand files and nominate one person to sign off on the design. Include examples of the desired message hierarchy and any branding standards.
- Supply vector logos, approved colors and required wording.
- Identify entrances and surfaces reserved for operational markings.
- Confirm whether partner or sponsor identities are needed.
- Agree on artwork approval, installation and future replacement scope.
Review the graphics with the site plan
Place the graphic proposal beside the entrance and vehicle-access plan. This reveals whether the most visible face carries the right message and where separate directional signs are needed. Include the people who will welcome visitors and manage the site.
Bring FORTS the shelter configuration, intended use and artwork to develop a graphic package suited to the building and its planned assignments.
